Need a set of rear parking sensors for a 131 Ford Fiesta?

Got a quote from a local garage of €280, he said you can buy them for about €120-€150 but I would have to fit them myself (wouldn't have a clue).

My local Ford garage where the car was bought is 2 hours away.

Is €280 a rip off or the standard price for a set of rear sensors...I wasn't expecting it to be that much but then again I had no idea how much they cost either.

280 is a little on the high side for parking sensors, but not by that much.

Could probably get them done a chit cheaper by shopping around, but not by that much.

Retrofitted and integrated as per factory - would prefer it done properly. Have rang the Ford garage where it was bought several times with no answer to get a quote from them. Just trying to work out the difference between €280 locally and if Ford are cheaper plus 2 hours petrol.

Unfortunately I don't know enough to comment on the price but I'd listen to R.O.R as he generally is fairly good on that stuff.

I'd personally be wairy of the cheap ebay specials for both long term reliability and also if something goes wrong and you put in a warrenty claim about something electrical (window switch for example) could Ford blame the cheap ebay specials and refuse warrenty?

Go to www.ford.ie, Fiesta brochure. Front/Rear sensors are €425. Don't know if these are factory or retro fitted :P

Is €425 for front and back...It wouldn't let me download the brochure...can you see a price for rear only by any chance? Thanks for comment.

Those prices would be for new vehicles i would imagine i cant veiw that website properly on my phone.

Anytime i have ever seen or retrofitted sensors to any ford they have been spurious sensors and never really have a problem with them.

I fitted an eBay set that cost 25 euro to my last car and they didnt fail me once in 2 years. They came colour coded to the bumper and looked almost OEM. If you are not comfortable fiddling with wiring or your bumper then you would need to find someone to fit them for you.

Meanwhile, please remember, no feeding. No matter how hard they fish.
Do what I do, use the report function.

OP, if you are going to the dealer, you can expect to pay big money.
I would buy aftermarket or even OEM Ford online and have them fitted by a good independent garage, you should expect to pay less.

For other posters information, I passed my driving test last September. The car isn't mine and the owner is the one who wants rear parking sensors. I have reported the above poster and after this comment I will not be engaging in any conversation with them. Thank you to everyone else for your help. Anyone who feels the need to go through my posting history to use information contained in it to post bullying comments towards me really needs to get a life and fast.

To the OP, I know a lad who put in his own sensors and he did a fair enough job but he was nearly crying drilling holes in his bumpers. Also he could not get carpets to fit 100% after running the wires to dash.

There are "no holes" sensors that work differently to ultrasonic ones, you must stick sensors to the inside of the bumper... dont know how well they work.
