Tough draw. Get the rosary beads out, especially for the away tie. I wonder will Kag or Fellaini get a look in for either game.

I think Fellaini will and should. He was effective enough against Liverpool at breaking up play and getting in people's faces. We'll need some of that against Bayern.

If anyone believes this, they are a complete and utter idiot.

Does anyone honestly think that Guardiola is that unprofessional, and even if he was, would be stupid enough allow that to be broadcast on the clubs TV station?

It looks like the video is from Tuesday, he runs to Starke because it was his birthday.

not to be too pessimistic but this could be a walk for Bayern.
I expect them to win both ties.
I think there is a huge risk that Moyes will be exposed here - his ability to influence a game in mid stream seems non-existent to me. maybe i'm wrong.
Plus, if he thinks the whole Giggs trick will work again...

I would imagine that Giggs was in the team because of what Moyes felt he would bring to that specific fixture, not because he thinks Giggs is the dog's bollox in general.

    I'd agree maximus

Who cares, we have nothing to loose. Just need to go for it, and we are better off playing the best team now and have a right good stab at it, I actually think we would do worse against a weaker team than Bayern.

    Positive much?? ;)

You realise Arsenal are a much better team than Utd, right?

United are a better team than Arsenal and Liverpool. The difference is Arsenal have a world class manager and Liverpool have a manager who is playing to their strengths. While well Moyes doesn't have a clue what he is doing.

The draw was always going to be difficult, regardless of whoever we got.
I'm always optimistic but I can't see anything other than a comfortable Munich win. I'll still be supporting the team and the manager until the better end.

Ah here, youve got to accept where you are in the table. Arsenal and Liverpool are better teams than United this season. Pure and simple fact

Porto, inter,Liverpool all were under dogs and went in to win it.
It's not impossible, but a lot of luck and hard graft needed by every player.
We need the others to have the same effort and work rate as Rooney.

Van Persie out for West Ham. First scan was inconclusive, having a rescan. If we are to have a chance, we need him firing on all cylinders.

United have better strikers, a better goalkeeper and a better Mata than Arsenal and Liverpool. That's about it.

But aren't you just an honest Liverpool fan with a username like that who just comes into the United thread for open and honest discussion and definitely has as much right as everyone else to post in here?

With this in mind, why would you post such a trollish link?

We might actually see Mata behind Rooney for once! Kagawa behind Rooney for the Bayern tie would be nice too if RVP is out for that one.

No Matter how much of a mish-mash season RVP has had, we need him regardless. Hoping he's out injured is not a good way to be thinking.

There isn't much of a difference in quality between RVP up front with Rooney behind, or Rooney up front with Mata behind. That's without even mention Kagawa and Chicharito.

Our attacking options are excellent, it's just a pity we can't get them into the same side and our midfield is brutal.

I wouldn't say you have better strikers than Liverpool, more depth obviously. But I'd take Suarez and Sturridge over RVP and Rooney all day.

Suarez over Rooney yes I would agree.
Sturridge no, He has improved immensely this season but that is all, needs a few more seasons to prove he's better than RVP & Rooney.

I didn't say that at all....

I said if he's out, big difference.

Let's not forget that Brendan Rodgers masterminded a drubbing at OT and he's no Pep, and Bayern are in better form than them and have far superior players.

It's going to take a miracle and Moyes getting the tactics perfect over 90 minutes something he hasn't done this season, if you want to say he did against Arsenal before Christmas I wouldn't agree as he tried the same against other teams and it didn't work.

The first half against the Greeks was promising, but as it stands it could be put down to an anomaly.

I just hope we don't roll over, give them a game at least, make them work for it,

Apologies, but same difference. He would only be out if he was injured. Moyes isn't going to drop him and rightly so.

    Shades of 2005 here

Squeeze past olympiakos (granted for us it was in group)
Meet an old rival with plenty of important but sad history for your club in the quarters.
All you have to do is follow our blueprint
slightly edge it at home and park the bus in the away leg
Chelski in the Semis and greatest comeback of all time in the final

    Simples

I don't agree with you, but I don't know how much of my opinion is coloured by bias, so I'm not going to argue the point.

Suarez is better than all of them. If you judge both partnerships since the day Sturridge joined Liverpool and there's one clear winner imo
