Doh :o Another brilliant move by Moyes and the board!

    Carrick
    Fellaini-
    Januzaj---Kagawa---Welbeck
    Rooney-

    or

    Fellaini
    ----Januzaj----Valencia
    Kagawa
    ----Rooney--Welbeck

At least that puts Kags in his favoured position.

    Think we'll probably see...
    De Gea
    Raf - Jones - Vidic - Evra
    Carrick - Fel
    Young - Rooney - Valencia
    RVP

With Cleverly, Januzaj and Rio being the subs used.

Was Van Gaal, Fergies choice originally in 2002, I think I remember reading that he was. He could keep the seat warm till Klopp or Pep becomes available.

Wasn't it Sven-Goran Eriksson he wanted?

No I think that's who he definitely didnt want, thats who the board were after, part of the reason he stayed as well.

Mata was ineffective against Liverpool playing where he did, will Moyes just throw Kagawa in there as well expecting different results?

Also if Moyes still has his job next week, he will probably get the first few months of next season with new signings to see if it turns around, with Van Gaal on standby I'm thinking.

    Van Gaal quotes going round...
“My ambition is to coach a top team in the Premier League. I have never experienced the atmosphere in England,” he told German newspaper Bild.

Having won titles in Germany, Spain and his native Holland, he added: “I want to win the league title in a fourth country. That’s my objective and I want to fulfil it. Either that, or I will retire and move with my wife to Portugal.”

Sounds better than "We'll make it hard for teams to beat us".

Is how I'd set Utd up for this, the former a bit less less attack minded, the latter risky but exciting. Leave RvP on the bench as Welbeck will do more even if he is less talented.

Why would Van Gaal wait on stand-by? He would take the Spurs job. If we till a few months into next season to sack Moyes we will be in the same predicament as we are now as to who would take over until the end of the season.

If RVP is on the bench the media will have a field day saying he is unhappy etc. Even tough his form shows he has not performed well

    that's moyes job.

otherwise if rvp (or rooney) really are undroppable, then he's not up to the job.

he said as much already though, couldn't take RVP off earlier against newcastle because he was afraid of what people would say.

Just get out of the club. He's a disaster.

Agree something is telling me he will cave in and start him tonight

And so he should. RVP is the finest player Utd have.
Its the lack of decent ball played to him that id want changed.
I cant believe the stick hes gettin here and people saying he should be droped.

Ferguson would have to leave if Van Gaal was the manager. Not enough room for those 2 egos. Van Gaal is brilliant but he is grumpy and doesn't give a **** about what anyone else thinks or says.

He's not going to win a premier league with Spurs though, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and City will not take him, if the rumours are true that he's been contacted and he's not in the job in July well then it's feasible that he's been told he'll get the job if Moyes doesn't improve.

Moyes has to be sacked after the last game at the very latest, because Van Gaal isn't available until July and we're hardly going to let Moyes spend June signing players if he's going in a month. So we'll find out at the latest in May whether Moyes is going to be still here next season.

still doesn't mean he can't or shouldn't be dropped.

he could be dropped, just like RVN was dropped in 2005/6 in order to change the style.

Rvp and rooney up front with two out wide is not working.

I doubt he has any idea how it could work though tbf.

“I remember going there as a manager. You want to get out of Old Trafford alive, that used to be our saying,” Moyes said in July.

Martinez : “Everyone who supports the club would expect Everton to go to Old Trafford, perform well and try to win the game.

How can you expect United to perform when the manager still thinks small time?

    i can't promise I'll try.

    but I'll try to try.

From reddit, So we go through in 4 of them ET in 2 out in 3. I think we'll win but not by enough to go through. So 1-0 2-1

    So what?

If its the right choice to drop a player then thats what the manager should do. Who gives a toss what the media or other fans think.
