Haven't been on this since last Thursday evening, and not going through the 90 pages of posts since then.

Everything about the performance on Sunday was awful, tactics were all wrong, players didn't know what they were meant to be doing, we were just overrun in every department.

I think I would have preferred us to play the wingers game, we might have created something then. Januzai shouldn't have started, Liverpool have too much pace and Jan and Mata couldn't match it.

First penalty was unlucky from Rafael, Suarez was just too clever. Second penalty was very stupid from Jones, he could never get the ball without going through the player. Third was a dive, clear as day from the replay. Rafael prob should have got red, but Flanagan was lucky to stay on the pitch as well.

Very hard to say we were unlucky when we were totally outplayed, it could've been 5 or 6. De Gea made a brilliant save to keep it 2-0.

One thing I have to say is Gary Neville should not be commentating for Sky when he is involved with England. How could he say that crap about Vidic for the third penalty when every one else on the planet could see it was a dive.

I was calling for Moyes to be sacked after the Olympiakos game, and I think the next 2 weeks could end his United career. Three tough games coming up, we 'should' beat West Ham at the weekend, but City will destroy us. Not sure about the Olymiakos game, if we get an early goal then I think we might be able to push on, but the way we're playing at the moment, there's no conviction, no heart, no desire, no work rate, and it just doesn't cut it in top flight football, especially at United.

In fairness, I'd be laughing and smiling if my job involved going for a kickabout every morning.

I've lost the will to watch Man Utd --- before I would plan my weekend around getting to watch the match, but now it's more "if i'm near a TV i might watch it" .. It's sad I know on my part,, but its very hard to watch the team you love play so bad. I know I should be supporting the team through good times and bad... and I do.. I just don't go out of my way to watch them :(

    c-mon united ?

The pictures do look bizarre. What's so funny?

I must be the only United fan that agrees with Neville. Vidic slid in on Sturridge in the penalty area and got nowhere near the ball, he deserved everything that followed.

And for those castigating Sturridge just look at Suarez in the first half. He was clearly tripped from behind in the area, but because he didn't go down he didn't get a penalty. Its no wonder then that Sturridge is going to go down.

Inside Garry Neville must be screaming at the top of his voice! He was correct about Vidic regardless of a dive, he went to ground and presented the opportunity.

IF they can't beat Olympiakos and inevitably lose against City whats the point of sacking Moyes then? There is litterrally nothing else to play for after that anyway. See it through to the end of the season, then act quick if thats the call.

Why wouldn't Rooney be happy? He's getting paid £300,000 a week and he's been consistently one of the worst United players over the past two years.

So a player isn't allowed to slide in and try and tackle a player anymore? He slid, got no where near the ball, but was no where near the player either. It was a blatant dive.

He's conceded one less this season so far. And to think some people aren't willing to give him a chance.....

Yes because goals conceded is the only way to measure a manager at a big club.

Moyes' United have conceded 3 fewer goals than this time last year, but have scored 23 fewer goals and gained 26 fewer points. That's a third of our goals and points lost under Moyes compared to last year. We've been beaten by West Brom, Everton, Newcastle, Swansea and Spurs at home; lost away to Stoke; beaten home and away by Liverpool, including being played off the park the other day; been hammered by City away; lost 2-0 to Olympiakos in the CL; got knocked out of the League Cup by Sunderland; we have the same points won at home as Norwich and the same goals scored at home as Fulham. We have played rubbish, dysfunctional football all season and have lost several fixtures for the first time in decades.

But we've conceded 3 fewer goals than this time last year? Big fúcking deal.

No I agree about the tackle from Vidic , he slid in from behind and deserved the penalty very stupid from a player of his experience, the entirey backline was all over the place though! , not one of them had a half decent game..

At this level, if you are going to do a slide tackle inside the area then you had better damn well get the ball, because if you don't then its probably going to be a penalty. Thats a simple fact of life and Vidic should have known better.

I have no intention of getting high and mighty about Sturridge diving either. Any of our lads would have done the same, and as Suarez showed in the first half you get no thanks for not doing it.

Lol. You must really hate the guy, because you've obviously given up completely on judging his football objectively.

As Noel Gallagher said last night:

"Giving Mata to David Moyes is like giving a smart-phone to your grand-dad for xmas".

Someone said that weeks ago and good old Noel is stealing the joke, not the first time he's ripped off somebody's work though so not really surprising.

Was thinking that, but the pictures were released on the official site, they've obviously cherry picked the ones that look at happy to squash rumours of team unrest and make it look like everyones delighted to be training with Moyes.

Everyone pointed out earlier on this season that Rooney was United's best player. That was complete nonsense and people were afraid of losing him and so began to judge him completely irrationally.

United best football this season has been when Kagawa played in the hole. Rooney has been useless for two years in that position. Our best football last season came when Rooney wasn't playing in the hole (Real Madrid x 2).

He's a great striker and proved that when he played there. But he has been utterly ineffective in the hole for a long time now. If Rooney is to play in the hole then we need a midfield that can dominate and supply him with lots of ball and give him an infinite amount of touches. Otherwise our attacks get smothered quickly and we're under pressure again.

and all them pics it looks like they are playing the man in the middle trying to win the ball, usually played at the end of training and in my experience is always the best part and funniest in training as players get nutmegged a lot and when all the fancy flicks and tricks come out.....

I was gonna use a smiley even though I hate them but since I figured not even the most serious amongst us would even consider I was being serious, I didn't bother. Guess I didn't take account of everyone though.

Rooney was Utds best player at the start of the season. People were only calling it as they saw it.

Its only since he signed his new contract that he has been poor, but I find it impossible to judge a player under this regime. Pretty much everyone bar De Gea has been brutal.

I'm sure a lot of the early band-wagonners of the mid 90's feel the same, I was at Old Trafford in the 80's along with only 22,000 others against Wimbledon and remember when we got relegated in 74, one of the best seasons was when we came back up in 75 full of optimism, as your user name suggests NeVeR give up, things will turn around once Moyes is gone.

Making any sort of a judgement based on pictures can be silly imo.
It's a split-second shot of a situation that gives no impression of the context of the situation.

But take for example the picture posted (Zerks?) of Giggs and Moyes - yes it looks as if Giggs is pissed at Moyes, but he could be grimacing because of the rain blowing in his face for all we know.
Similarly, the PR team have quite obviously released the pictures of laughing and joking in training hoping that people will see that all is well.

There are bound to be difficulties with the players at the minute with the way the season is going, but I for one wouldn't be forming opinions (one way or another) based on photographs of them in training.

You can argue about how much better you think Kagawa has been compared to Rooney in the tiny number of games he has played at number 10 this season, how you think Rooney isn't suited to the position and what you think the games against Madrid prove. That's all up for debate. The idea that Rooney has consistently been one of our worst players is not though. To call a player who has scored 13 and assisted 13 in 30 starts in a rubbish season for the team "consistently one of the worst United players" is utter rubbish.

Rooney has been consistently rubbish. He's also a player who exemplifies everything that is wrong with Manchester United.

I'm having a hard time remembering when the last time he played well for 60+ minutes. Maybe Spurs in December. He's massively under performing. Obviously consistently rubbish is vastly overstating how bad he had been but he's been poor this year and he was poor last year too.

Certainly not someone who deserved a new contract.

take Rooney out of the current Utd team.

    see his value now?

Its the going rate for close to a lot of players theses day, Tevez wasnt on far off that at City, I am sure Ballotelli was the same. Shevchenko and Ballack at Chelsea were on savage money 8 years ago.

Its a hell of a lot of money but I rather have him on 300k a week than lose him and see him replaced with a massive transfer that flops.

That's ridiculous, I'm not happy about him being rewarded with the contract again, sets a bad precedent but it was important to keep him. He's an out and out striker who's lost the silky first touch that allowed him to play deeper earlier in his career and changed it to a heavy powerful striker's touch designed to gain quick space for a shot. I'm not sure he has it in him to adapt back. He's lost a lot of anger and drive too, you see it in flashes but for the most part his best performances come when he has to prove something or feels wronged. His touch improved when he got angry against Liverpool which was quite noticeable.
