Can we not come to conclusions from watching games anymore?

I feel sorry for Mata. Moyes has no idea how to use him.

Probably wont make the Spain squad for this summer at this rate.

To be honest the players need to look themselves in the mirror after that one. No conviction, no confidence, no leadership. In saying that I think Moyes has to go and ASAP. Bringing on Ferdinand with a few minutes to go was embarrassing.

Sturridge diving was utterly classless from him but aside from that Liverpool were just too good and it probably should have been more. The other two penalties were fair but Clattenburg had a bad day overall.
    yes he did
how Rafael wasn't sent off was a very poor decision

Bad and all as we were, the second yellow for Vidic was a complete and utter joke. Clear as day that Sturridge dived . How the linesman and that muppet with the whistle missed it is beyond me. Have we ever conceded 3 penalties in one match before?

If what you're referring to in the match thread had upset you so much you should jump off the internet pal

I could politely tell you a thing or two felex... telling someone if they patt3d you on the head they would end up with a broken arm is classless and cowardly.... sure whatever your into in meath...

On a related note....am I alone in thinking it's crazy Vidic was given the armband when he's quite publicly signed a contract with another club? I know he's a leader and all that, but I really don't think we should be looking to a guy who is gone in a few weeks to lead us in such a big game :(

I ain't having a go at Mata but from my own perception of the game most of his passes came from being pinned down at our 18 yard box. So why did Moyes leave things till the 70+ min to look to change things?

Would agree with Adnan not being great should of been subbed out a lot earlier then he was. He was my fear when I seen the line up with regards defending.

Lots of drivel about Moyes in here about the post match interview. He's not going to publicly crucify his players. He's not going to give any buzz words for the press to cling onto. He's not deluded, he's out of his depth. But he's a nice guy and I think some of the abuse is over the top.

Too nice. And that's his problem. Too nice to make big decisions. Has to go. Should have been gone long before today, and I hope he's gone after we're knocked out on Wednesday, because we will be knocked out. There isn't a hope in hell we score at least 2 and don't concede. He's out of his depth, out of his comfort zone and has failed utterly in this job. He was the wrong appointment and while the majority were willing to give him a chance last Summer, I think most fans were nervous about what could happen. But we never thought it could be this bad.

Get him out, and give a proven manager this massive warchest to spend. Please.

I don't know how anyone bar opposition fans could still want him in at this stage.

I gave him as much time as I could but there's no way you can go 8 months without some sign of decent football, a glimpse to show that there's a grand plan.

Another poster said about Moyes being ''too nice''. This is a problem. People are complaining that the players are doing their own thing and not listening too him . Its his job to kick their arse and sort out their attitudes. He s not there to make friends. Management is as much about getting the players to listen to you than how you organise them on the pitch. What would be very disturbing is if the players ARE responding to Moyes and this is all he can get them to produce!!!!

He did look a bit glazed over during the post match interview, but in fairness its a task that not only he would have had to face but anyone who took over after Fergie, and quite frankly those players who collect 10's of thousands a week should hang their heads in shame with the performances they put in for him.

It's internet warrior stuff though. Classless and cowardly is massively ott. But sure I'm not surprised you Kildare lads are a bit sensitive at the moment.

He wouldn't have made it with Chelsea either. Bit of perspective. Always an outsider for the world cup squad.

Thought he was pretty poor today as well.

David Moyes: "We didn’t get to the standards we need. We have to make sure we're harder to beat." #MUFC

    Makes me sick

    That is disgraceful.

Just out of interest, anyone here who is still fully behind Moyes, could you please briefly explain why?

I tried to support him from the start but that support has gradually slipped away and now I honestly cannot think of a reason to have faith in the man.

I'm not trying to be provocative here, just genuinely curious.

Because he's the manager of Manchester United, the club I support, and while he is in charge, I will support him.

What did you want/expect him to say?

I'd personally like to see him speak a bit more courageously, and show there are consequences for bad preformances; show that our aim is to win, not just not lose. Speak like a champion and the manager of Man United, not the manager of a small team trying to make things difficult for bigger teams.

That sounds like something the manager of a team fighting relegation would say,we are Manchester United, being harder to beat doesn't cut it.We should be the team that walks all over others not the one trying not to lose games.

IF that Moyes quote is true then it ties in exactly what Tim Howard said recently.

@OptaJoe Manchester United have scored only 18 goals at home in the PL this season, the same number as Fulham have managed.

    Damming stat.

Honestly can't remember a time when a manager coming out a criticizing his players has had a positive effect.
Sherwood did it last week and came across as a bit of a d1ck
