My big fear for this summer is we sell Nani, Kags, Pea and keep Val, Clev and Young. Based on appearances this year you could see it happening which would be a disaster.

I suspect it'll be the older folk Moyes gets rid off (Ferdinand, Evra and Giggs) and fringe players who want out.

I've said that before. Right now, it looks like we're getting rid of the wrong type of players; the "Elders" who shouldn't be first choice but have plenty left to offer the club, and the fringe players who are being utterly wasted.

I'll be shocked if Val, Clev and Young aren't still at the club come September. :(

Or are people just waiting till united lose their next game to voice their opinions on that?

    I still want him out.

Just seen the Mata free now on MOTD. Beautiful strike.

Mata and Kagawa on the same pitch equals Utd playing well.

    It seems quite simple tbh.

Handsome devil :pac: - he will become a great player for us in future years i'm sure... Kagawa now finding his feet too, hopefully we really have turned a corner - a clean sweep in the PL until the end of the season would be a great boost going into the summer/new season.

Lets see how they get on in a year or two when the defence has learned the martinez way.

True that...however we don't have the midfield and defence to allow us to field such a set up against better opposition.

We won against a below-par Newcastle team on a bad day, so there is no need to get overexcited just yet however I do believe this performance from a weak enough united team warrants further investigation. Kagawa is a starter, simple as that. It started off as a joke not playing him but the fact of the matter is when he plays, united win. He is not a very 'British' player with an all action sprinting around the pitch, but his subtleties allow other players to interlink with him and retain possession.

With regards to Mata - he has had a fantastic performance. Simply superb and has gone some way to justifying his fee. Kagawa, Januzaj and the main man Mata linked up perfectly and it bodes great for the future.

With this being said, hopefully the powers that be (Moyes!) sees this and builds a team around this rather than sticking with ridiculous sprints to the byline and crossing hail Mary's into the box.

Here is (the possible beginnings of) a great thing, don't kill it stone dead!

We can't have Kagawa, Mata Januzaj etc. and then have someone like Carrick who doesn't want the ball and is very pedestrian.

The quicker we play and the more pressure we absorb the better but having a guy like Carrick out there allows for no outlet. We're trying to sit deep but in order to do that we need to have quick players on the counter. Having pedestrian players in the build up play has killed us all year and it's not just Carrick, none of our midfielders are capable of a quick manoeuvre and fast release. Also Vidic, Smalling, Evans etc. are very poor on the ball which doesn't help either.

Calling Evans and Smalling poor on the ball is pure wrong. Evans is one of the most assured defenders I've ever seen on the ball. Never got the hate for Vidic on the ball either, rarely makes mistakes with it. My problem is him and Rio the last few seasons thinking hoofing it in big games works. I can't remember them doing it much during the 2007-11 period but the last 2 or 3 seasons all they do is hoof it back to the opposition but that's obviously a tactical decison more than anything.

Having spent a fortune on Mata and secured Rooney on an expensive contract, will RVP be let go this summer? All three can't play together so something has to give.

Mata has to play at 10, otherwise he's isolated on the wing and we may as well not have bought him.

It will be a big decision for the summer but one that surely has to be made. If united play it smartly they could move him to a club abroad who have a midfielder we want and we could get in some type of money/player exchange as RVP would still be viewed as a valuable player, who could improve a team.

Vidic is terrible on the ball. Always has been.

Evans is brilliant on the ball one of the best at the club. Smalling is poor on it and Vidic is not great either.

Good god no, I want him nowhere near the WC. I want him wrapped in cotton wool and put into storage when the season ends.

Sorry don't know why I put Evans in there. He's actually very comfortable.

It'll be a terrible shame if he gets sold this summer. Super little player. Should be a 20 game a season man for us for the next 6-8 yrs.

Good to see Nani back. Could be set up for him to make an impact next week. Here's hoping anyway. Redemption following on from the Real game last year.

My big fear for this summer is we sell Nani, Kags, Pea and keep Val, Clev and Young. Based on appearances this year you could see it happening which would be a disaster.

It would set the club back for years. That's my main worry with keeping him really, if we want to risk next season that's one thing but if we throw the baby out with the bathwater and rid this side of most of its creative input that's quite another and spits in the ethos of the club. Kagawa, Mata and RVP should be at the club as long as they want to be, Nani and Chich deserve at least a squad spot. Young and Val are not Man United players and Cleverley is questionable to say the least. We need to be building on flair and fluidity, not dinosaur tactics whacking it out to the ****ing wings to fire crosses in. Players like the ones we could be seeing go are players that have always been valued at Man United, we shouldn't be seeing them off to accomodate players more in place at Aston Villa.

I do worry though given the way things have panned out this season that we'll end up down Kagawa and RVP at the end of it. Hopefully today was a sign that Moyes is finally coming to grips with what's expected at united and he's not going to still try make us a more expensive version of Everton but i don't know at all right now.

Pretty much any time we have played remotely half decent this season, RVP has not been on the pitch. He's not as mobile as the other options and he's not inclined to try to be.
It might be better to get rid of him as he doesn't seem like the type of character who will embrace being a bit part player...if Moyes took the decision to make him a bit part player...as a pro Moyes head its one of my criticisms of him, his dealing with some of the big name older players.
Next year I'd like Rooney leading the line as the main striker with the captains armband

I think Moyes needed to rely on the senior players this year and it would be worse for him if he didn't.

Before he started the job he spoke about midfield and to go back to your Earlier Point he needs to fix midfield to provide the platform for players like Mata.

I can see RVP leaving now with Mata signed and Rooney with his new contract.

Re Shinji, Matas praise of him along with how well he links with Rooney gives me hope that he will be at OT next season. Same for Hernandez, Mata is only at United since late January so Moyes is going to be looking and learning who he links up well with as the season goes on. When you spend big on a guy like him you are going to keep players that get the best from him.
