Fans who love the club club will be the ones getting behind the team when we are ****.

They are the ones who will be there for the good times, but also the bad times.

It easy support a team when trophies are won most seasons, but fans who want the club to do well wont be ordering a ****ing plane that have zero impact.

If this season has done anything, it's revealed some of the absolute glory hunting retards who call themselves supporters. Some of the posts on here are cringe worthy.

I always accepted that there was going to be a difficult transition period. That said I thought we would still be good enough for top 4 so from that perspective it's disappointing but I'm not going to throw my toys out of the pram. Players like Rio need to shoulder a lot of the blame for their insipid effort this season.

Nail on ****ing head there, but not in the way you mean. And I'm surprised you've dropped to this "real fans" nonsense now, Kew.

Also, shall we address how Moyes walked out ahead of the team pretty much begging for the adoration? And still only got a light smattering of applause in the process. Hardly the ringing endorsement some people are painting it as...

You've mentioned this a few times now and the fact you think this way probably highlights the lack of understanding displayed in several other points you have made recently.

Did you ever think he could have come out before the rest of the team (unusual for Moyes) incase he was going to get booed so the rest of the team didn't have to come out to a chorus of boo's and feel under even more pressure than they already were?

There's plenty of things people could criticize about the team and Moyes over the course of the season but the amount of **** people come out with looking for any excuse to give out about Moyes is ridiculous.

Edit: Just to add, of course I could easily be wrong and Moyes might have wanted to lap up the applause like you stated, but we are never going to know so I really don't see the point in jumping straight in to criticize him because of it.

Yes. Do you really think he is untouchable for another whole season?

I just can't see how it can get worse. If he hasnt been fired yet, what would have to happen for the board to decide enough is enough?

Sure if we are giving him next season which seems very likely, I think he's capable of challenging for top 4 next year if the money is wisely spent in the summer. They're only going to sack him during next season if we're not competing for champions league spots. I hope i'm wrong.
But you said whatever happens. Now you're saying if we're not competing for top 4.
    That's a completely different argument.

But this goes back to something I said yesterday; some people don't seem to realise there's a difference between supporting the manager and supporting the team.

I love Man United. Been a fan since I can remember, with posters and wallpaper on my wall as a little kid, magazines and jerseys collected, etc. I watch every game I can possibly watch, be it on Sky, PC or whatever.

And it's cause I love Man United that I want Moyes gone. But just because I don't support one man in the team doesn't mean I don't love the club.

This "real fan" nonsense bugs the **** out of me; some people have developed this weird attitude where they think supporting the club means that we have to say it can do no wrong, and we have to persevere with something even if it obviously isn't working. We're told to support the team, but the team looks to be getting shipped out fair quick; Rio, Vidic and Evra are likely going, the same fans who support Moyes blidnly want Young and Cleverly gone. Hernandez, Kagawa and Nani are all likely on their way out too. RVP as well. The latter 4 going not because of being bad players but because of conflicts with the manager. But we support Moyes cause we support the club....just not the players who play for it (and who won us the league not 9 months ago)?

I'll stand by the team through good and bad, but it's because I will that I want the problems rectified and addressed; to me, the definition of "real fan" seems to be one who'll happily see the ship go down rather than admit we made a mistake with Moyes and try and fix things. There's a difference between supporting the team in the bad times, and letting bad things happen out of sheer stubborness and faux-elitism.

Exactly he's going nowhere at the end of the season. They're not going to sack the manager a couple of months into next season after spending 100 million plus on his players unless they're mid table.

CAn't help but see Chico on the way this summer. I think his cameo pretty much summed it up for me. Some basic linkup play that he still made a meal of on two occasions, a nice poachers finish, but you can't lead the line of a top team in this day and age with just poaching in your locker imo.

Rooney with another 2 today, I keep saying it, he needs to play up front, he's such a different animal up there. Happy for Kagawa, an assist and while that pass was for Rooney, still created a peno.

The banner was embarrasing and I'm glad it was booed, and that was a pretty big play by Moyes to come out early ahead of the team to a roaring reception. I appreciate the overwhelming majority here want him out, and I'm falling into that category more each week, but we have to realise we are a drop in the pond compared to the global fanbase. If I was the Glazers watching that today I'd take that he still has the backing from the fans.

Also was that Paddy Power banner actually real or just a joke they put up? If that's real, I'm starting a boycott of PP. Sorry but I struggle to sit idley buy and watch a shambolic organisation like them take the piss out of the club week in week out, in an industry that is TOTALLY based of getting punters in the door. Quick to jeer United and squash any discussion on their Facebook page of them failing to payout legimate winners, stay classy PP

Chuffed for Buttner, another good game in quick succession and some more unce deliveries, tremendous left foot on him, and good in possession aswell. Good to see him grasping his chance, hopefully doesnt go un noticed. If your a sucker for that sort of omen stuff, for me anyway, playing Bayern and Ribery, is when Rafael really showed for me he could be a top right back. Hopefully Buttner takes the same chance !

I think the board will only act if he doesn't finish in top 4 next season, because that's when the lack of CL football will start to show on the bottom line. It's all about money. The board will do what they think is best for their investment.

I don't even think any decent manager could fail to challenge for top four if they buy the right players for the right positions in the summer. But David might surprise me just like this season.

Sorry, missed this point before posting my last.

Do I think Moyes thought he was going to be booed? Absolutely not; he wasn't booed when we got spanked by Pool, nor City...why would he have expected boos before we'd even played Villa? If anything, it was pretty obvious for the last day or two that the reception would be a positive one before the match as some tried to counteract the plane; even people who want Moyes out accepted the plane would have a negative reaction in terms of getting people behind him more.

There was no way he was getting booed before the match. He knew that and ran out ahead of time.

78,000 backed him by the sounds of it, I wonder if there are a few in this forum who gave money for the banner :p

Thats not what I meant at all.

Supporters should get behind the team. But booing the manager after a victory would be just totally stupid.

You can vent the anger on the stands if things go bad, but you dont need to purchase a plane.

Thats just being a total dickhead.

    EVENFLOW

Exactly. If we play dreadfully and lose, then boo the manager and/or team all you like. But hiring a plane to fly that f***ing ridiculous banner is childish.

I'd leave him see out the season and get rid in May.

I completely agree with that but I don't think the United board will do it.

We can only guess. It's very easy for them to pay him lip service.

SAF saying at his final game at OT to "get behind the manager"; SAF having been given several seasons without a trophy and the likes of Charlton backing him; United giving Moyes a 6 year contract; Woodward saying that the club has accounted for and can handle a year without CL football; Charlton saying this week that Moyes is the right man for the job; what has finally convinced you that he's going nowhere at the end of the season?

how could anyone possibly deny it hasn't been? this season gave the first opportunity for 20 years to show a lot of supporters up to be what they are. flying a banner before a game like that at home was disgraceful for any 'fan' to do

You really have to wonder about the people who hired the plane. I presume they wanted a loss today and must be pissed off.
