I stayed in the roman way hotel in Cannock which is close by. Was ideal. Nothing exciting but grand.
Stayed in Wolverhampton another year, bit livelier but further drive.

Advice - bring money & lots of it! If the weather is good it is a pleasure to walk around, browse & pick up bits & pieces.
Wait til the last day to buy anything substantial where there are decent stocks as deals are easier come by.
Had a thread up before with pics etc

Remember that you'll be paying the UK VAT on everything you buy apart from the food you eat there.

I don't know if you can claim it back, like we can when we go home to Canada and buy spendy stuff to bring back here - a rare event that, but sometimes......

It's usually a great show in more ways that one, and if you are a 'doggy person' you'll be in heaven.

Telford is just a bit further up the road - plenty of accomodations there to suit every pocket.

I've been a few times and the last time we went we stayed here http://www.internationalhoteltelford.com/ brilliant place about 10 mins from the game fair site and in the same car park as a travel lodge.
Got the whole weekend 3 nights B&B for £150 for myself and the young lad.
The travel lodge does a carvery in the evening and basicly you eat whatever you want for a few quid.

However we also stayed here one year http://www.buckatreehallhotel.com/ a complete disaster of a place fawlty towers is 5 star compared to it.
One fella seemed to be doing everything from booking us in to cooking the breakfast and everything in between.
    Twice the price too!!
