UPC Connection

    Hey I'm experiencing a problem with UPC at the moment where I have to disconnect and reconnect regularly as the connection stops working. It immediately starts working again after reconnection but it's really annoying for streaming and such. Two other people have been using the connection with no problem but this occurs on my laptop and tablet. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks! :)

    Same problem here. Go to 192.168.100.1, leave username blank and use admin as password. Then have a look at your event log. Mine is gone ape the last month.

    I asked them about it in the talk to forum, they just told me to factory reset the router if that didn't work they'd need to send out an engineer.

    The problem persists so I'll have to get on to them and tell them to send out an engineer.

    Just wanted to say I'm having the exact same thing happen, only in the last few days aswell. Pretty sure it started with a new firmware update for the router.

    Connection has been rock solid since I got UPC, so when it cut out for the first time in 18 months I went and had a poke around, found the router log. I swear at the time it said it had just downloaded a file and then rebooted, but looking now the file download bit is missing...

    Ever since I've been having intermittent disconnects, seems like one every hour or so. It's never down for more than 40 seconds, but that's enough to stop whatever I'm doing. Extremely irritating for streaming or gaming! I'll try the factory reset and if it's still happening in a couple days I'm gonna get in touch with em. Let us know how you get on!

    e: hah just got my fifth disconnect of the evening while writing this.

    IIRC this is your modem checking for updates. But is being stopped.

    Factory reset did it for me years ago.
