    Hi there,

I've been a heavy painkiller addict for a number of years. its runing my life. i don't go anywhere. im SOMEHOW managing to hold down a great job, but this addiction is ruining me physically and mentally. im distancing myself away from people, im depressed etc.

I found out that im not mentally strong enough to just stop on my own and continue working and get over the addiction.
Im wondering if theres something i can take to keep my mind of that yearning for them so i can get off them and then get off the replacement. Then get on with my life.
Im the only addict of any kind i know that has a job. But i don't trust myself that i can stay hidden like this.
Any advice would be appreciated. im 33

Have you spoken with a GP or addiction counsellor? That would be a good place to start.

    Good luck!

OP, considering that by your own admission you are addicted to painkillers, the only advice that we can give you is to see your GP and let them recommend the best course of action for you. As well meaning as peoples responses may be here, your question falls under seeking medical advice, and I therefore have no choice but to close the thread. Please understand that this is for your benefit, as the last thing that we want is to point you in the wrong direction.

Please consult your GP as son as possible regarding this.

    Good luck,
    Mike
