    Hi,

I was just cycling home on my bike and I noticed the wheels where not running centred. When I got home I a spoke feel off on the front and 3 are loose at the back wheel.

Is it a big operation to get the exact same spokes replaced or time to replace the wheels ? I don't want to spend too much.

The Cannondale Super Six 105 Carbon 2012
    Spokes: Mavic Aksium

Your lbs should be able to sort it for you, not expensive.

Think lbs got it sorted. It doesn't seem to be a major problem. Just wondering about getting spokes to match.

They are available but a bit pricey. Cyclesuperstore were coming up with EUR6 each last I looked.

are they all the same or do they differ from bike to bike ? Mine is black and either carbon or metal

I doubt you have carbon spokes to be honest. They're generally stainless steel.

Probably. Its just to get the same ones to match the rest.

They differ from side to side of the same wheel at times!

On a rear wheel, drive side and non drive side spokes will probably be different lengths while on a front wheel they'll be the same.

Spoke length depends on the hub and on the depth of the rim so you cannot just swap spokes from one wheel to another.

There sounds a bit more to the spokes than I thought. But is it hard to get the exact same spoke/colour ?

Harder with Aksiums than with the standard round spokes. Head over to cyclesuperstore and talk to the wheel builder there. He spent a good 40 mins with me searching out suitable spokes...
