P & K usage per litre

Anyone have the figures for how many units of P and K are used per litre milk per acre.
Just got soil sample results back and I'm 3&4's for K but have a few 2's for P. Have a bit of work to do on the P's . Thinking of going out with some 0-16-0 to push up the P. Just want to know what I need to put out to maintain levels, once I get it to the correct levels.

5,500 lt cow, 6kg p maintenance. 3.75 ton of 0-16-0 per 100 cows if my maths are correct.

Would a big application of Phosphate not lead to grass tetanus when applied to grazing ground at this time of year

How much would you be importing in a ton of meal per head.?

A big application potassium would be the problem with tetany I think.

I'd say just spread as much p as you can Max. That's what we are doing here this yrs. Going to spread straight p and N.
Discussion group member spread his whole p allowance last spring and had serious grass all year and had the dry cows grazing till mid Dec which he never had before

Max, sorry I can't expand the figure is a figure quoted at a meeting I attended. We were told this is the amount needed to maintain your index. I am very open to correction on this. Brown could well be right.

But of course everyone on Boards have 8-10k cows

Same as the local pup, everyone wants to talk about their best cow. :D:

    Welcome back by the way.

Surely a grazing cow will return most of what she takes from grazing platform
    ?

I disregard the p in meal. It's variable and the first 300 kg's are disregarded in the new regs anyway.
