    Past Pawn,
The cynic in me says it only clashes with the Leinster League matches.
The league fixtures have only been out since September, and anybody who plays in the Leinster leagues know they are full of juniors.
The real question should be why are the championships not in Dublin?
The finals are an hour 45 away from the majority of the players and the hotel that is hosting the finals is full because it has two weddings on the same weekend.
Good job there are loads and loads of hotels in Ballinaloe with plenty of rooms available that weekend.....as if.

It happened last year too. I think they said at the AGM that they weren't given enough notice of the date of the junior event. They moved the last round back almost a month this year, and advertised the date ages ago, only to find them clashing again. I suspect that whoever scheduled the junior championships is really to blame here.

LCU rules say games can't be scheduled for the same weekend as an ICU or LCU sanctioned tournament. So if you have players in the Irish Junior, you're entitled to ask the opposition for a rearrangement. This has to be before the final round of games obviously, and you should really give the opposition proper notice!

Obviously agree that the Irish Junior should maybe be scheduled more carefully.

The real question should be why are the championships not in Dublin?
Because it's Connacht's turn to host the championships.

Leinster is next year. And I agree it really should be Dublin this time (not Kilkenny again).

It does need people to do the work, of course. Benildus are looking at putting a bid in. But it's at an early stage. Other Dublin clubs can - and should - do the same.
