I want to get a bespoke suit made for my wedding. I went to a guy today who came highly recommended. I know his work is good, master tailor, worked in Saville row for years and that's where he gets all his materials from. He quoted me €1500 for a two-piece. I've never done this before so I'm looking for some advice. Is this the going rate or too expensive?

To me, for bespoke with that background that seems like a steal!

Yeah, bespoke can often cost thousands. It depends on what cloths he's using and how long he's going to spend on it - proper bespoke tailoring can take up to 50 man-hours per suit, which is why they are normally so expensive.

Thats an average enough sum, depending on the cloth you pick. Generally the finer, lighter and softer the cloth is <10oz/yard it becomes exponentially more difficult to tailor and will not wear as long.

PM me if you want to discuss tailoring and the tailors' details.
