Medical Card Review.. Taking Ages

    Any help with this one.
    Our medical card was stop last year as hubby out sick to illness , and he went on to illness benefit. We where entitled to card when he was working due to wages etc met the critea. We are on less money now and they wanted us to review our entitlement(this country). anyone 6 months ago sent everything to them and phone call after phone . They had only received documents yesterday( I did not onpost work with snails- Dont know how it could have taken this long to get there). Anyway still waiting and told yesterday another few months to reveiw due to backlog. I cant wait another few months, I have medical condition also and full time student and cant afford my hubby and mine prescriptions so mine had to take the back burner until we get resolved. The thing is I am now getting very sick due to not taking my meds, GP has told me I need to get or I will get worse.,cant afford them,Is there any appeal office we can contact to get this resolved. Thanks

    What was the expiry date on your last card? Were you trying renew using the form they send 3 months before its due to expire or were you told it was no longer valid before the expiry date was up? Did they say they only received the initial form and documents yesterday or were these additional documents that were requested afterwards?

    hi racheal for a minute there i thought you were telling my story. similar to you they never received my second set of documents so i posted and faxed them in.
    we started this process at end of november and it was issued yesterday but havn`t received it yet.Here is a link to the guidelines and if you read the very last paragraph on page 16 it might help.Other than that all you can do is hound
    them on the phone every day,my wife did and it hurried things up in the end.
