Just came across the new facelifted focus on the net. It seems it will have a new 1.5tdci engine. I wonder if this is their own unit or a new PSA unit?

Friend has a 2013 fiesta with this engine. Says its a great yoke, dunno how it would fare in the focus though, think his is 75hp

It's based on the 1.6 engine just with a smaller bore.

A change from 1.6 to 1.5 is hardly a world shattering change, is it?

It is more likely to do with other things like production costs, EU emission regulations, fuel economy, etc, rather than just cubic capacity.

Sure isn't. Just thought it may be a brand new engine. Is this engine used in other PSA models?

1.6 PSA unit was overhauled only back in 2011 so it may be just a case of Ford taking it and reworking it to their needs. It maybe just replacing the older 95bhp version of the 1.6 TDCi. The Fiesta has a 75bhp version of the 1.5 TDCi too.
