There's a guy from the north on DD sometimes with self load versions he makes.. I rang for the crack one day and he was looking €2200 for a demo model and I think €2500 new... Bad value

Hi Rushvalley, I noted your post on the mini muckspreader, I was thinking of something like this for horse manure but it is collected from a sand surface and has no bedding etc in it so the manure would be quite loose and flaky, I wonder if the chains (I looked at the flemming website) would lift the dung out or simply trash it around in the barrel? Also is is possible to load the spreader with a front loader and then lift the spreader on with the linkage? Thanks.

I bought a mini muck about 4 years ago, cost €800 from Connaght Gold.
When full it was very heavy on the tractor I had at the time so I got it fixed up with wheels and now can tow it.
It's a great job. I've been cleaning out sheds the last 2 weeks and it has managed everything from horrible slop to dry, flaky muck. It is inclined to throw anything with a high straw content out in a bigish lump, so I've had a few spots that had to be split up with a fork, but that can be minimised if you don't load only bedding at one go.
It certainly beats loading a trailer and throwing fym off with a fork, which is what I used to do!

It loves watery and dusty\ rotten dung so you should be able to spread horse dung. I sometimes load ours with the the front loader on the 35x but you'd be just as quick filling it with a fork. Not a hope in hell will you be able to hook it onto the tractor when it's full . Its fair heavy when its empty. If your going loading it with a front loader you need two tractors
