Diesel filter connection broken

I have a diesel filter housing from a generator and one of the quick release connections is broken my question is can I blank it off? Im told this filter housing has a pump integrated into it so a new one is very expensive. It has three hose connections on it, one is the feed from the tank, the second is going to the injection pump and the third which is the one that is broken is the return from the injectors. Can I blank this off on the filter housing and run a pipe from the injectors back to the tank?

    Any help appreciated

Could you not drill and tap the filter housing and make up a new joint?

Alright, routing it back to the tank grand then. Direct injection?
