I think that's more appropriate if a player has passed away no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61 ✭✭Prawo_Jazdy

yes certainly , if it happens to coincide with him scoring a try at that exact time

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,066 ✭✭✭Sandwlch

I dont think that would be fitting. It needs something bigger.

I am thinking: 13th second of the 13th minute, with the score at 13-13, the ref stops the match. Ref, 29 other players and all the crowd applaud as everyone leaves the stadium. It is set alight as they leave and burnt to the ground. All the worlds rugby players hang up their boots, all unions disband, the game of rugby is never played and again and the number 13 is removed completely from the world of mathematics.

But that probably woundnt be big enough a salute. It just needs more I feel to do the man homage.

What if there is a penelty kick on the 13th minute?

You would have to clap and "shush" at the same time!

It could work, but only if we sing Olé Olé/Stand Up For the Boys in Green at the same time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,997 ✭✭✭Grimebox

At least get another "one more year going" if/when he scores a try

Will this not be a bit confusing for Michelle Campagnaro the Italian 13?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

    Terrible idea.

We will never see his like again, but keep the focus on the game. Save the tributes for when he has retired.

    Bodtober.

Yes assuming that at some point in the 13th minute he does something BODish like a wonder pass or a gravity defying turnover or a bone shuddering tackle or score, otherwise no

Will Bodtober be when the 6 nations starts in future? So we'd have January, February, Bodtober, March.
    what a fitting tribute.

Even we Munster fans appreciate his awesomeness. In his honour, I plan to further intermix my family genes in order to develop an additional, 13th finger. All the better to applaud his stupendousness.

Standing ovation when he comes off the pitch in last few minutes (hopefully) or prolonged chanting of his name until he comes off or until end of match.

From a movie called the natural when the guy was asked how he would like to be remembered, he said "as the best there was, the best there has been and the best there will ever be" could have been talking about BOD!

Hope I will see some one in the future who has been so good over a career but I doubt it! It has been my privilege to watch the great one over his whole career to date. Thank you BOD!!
