VRT would be €4300. As it's under 6 months old VAT @23% would be due too. Well done OP.

So it's effectively no cheaper considering you would have to go to the uk that causes a certain amount of expense, pay the 19,250 pay the vrt at 4,300 and vat would be a good bit too. The car can be got brand new for around 26-27k euro new here as it's the basic spec. Actually if anything the car may cost more after paying the vat and that's not even considering that it has 10k km on it. Some bargain alright.

    But it really costs
    19250 euro
    4300 euro vrt
    4500 euro vat

That equals 28,050 euro. They cost less than that here with 0 miles. So you would loosing money by going to the uk to buy it. But I suppose all of the above it doesnt matter cause it only costs £15750!!!!

What is a good straight price on a new one?
Im guessing you believe the 15750 is an ok prove for a pre reg.

Even more reason to buy a nice one with leather and a DSG if you've to spend that much time in it.

you wouldn't spend all day at a desk job in a hard wooden kitchen chair would you?

But the more I spend on it the longer I would have to stay in it.

    £15,750 is £13,125 ex. VAT

Which is €15,834.04 at the XE.Com rate

    With IRL VAT, that's €19,475.87

    @ 17% VRT on a Superb Active 1.6Tdi (Non-GL model), that's around €4,053

    IRL equivalent cost - €23,528.87

Which is more than I could buy a brand new, unregistered, 1.6Tdi Active, in Ireland for.

So - used, cars are more expensive in the UK, than brand new ones in Ireland? Good to know.

    Thanks OP.

What was the average MPG achieved over the 10 miles, and what style of driving was used?

This should have a major bearing on the cost price.

Does it come with a heated rear screen.? That'll keep your hands warm while you're pushing it :D:D
