Jobseeker's allowance: Nil payment possible without means test?

A bit of an odd query perhaps, but I wonder is it possible to get jobseeker's allowance at a nil rate without being means tested once you are actively looking for work.

Having moved back to Ireland, being self employed, having seasonal paye work, having sold one house and being renting we have capital that would mean I would not qualify for any payment. And our finances are in general dissarray. Added to that we are in the early stages of separating. I really don't want to get into all of that with social welfare.

I would just like to get the JA credits without having to go through all the means testing procedure when things are in such a state of flux and I wouldn't qualify for payment anyway.

    Is that possible?
