    Hi,

    Did many of ye get this form?

    I don't understand why they need to have your pps number? Some of the terms of engagement on the back seem a little extreme.

    Seems like a form to build a user profile more so then for them to contact you on programmes you maybe eligible for.

    Is everyone that got it, completing and returning it.

I haven't seen this form but farmers are handing over more and more information to the the likes of Teagasc, the department, icbf etc and it doesn't seem to be doing us much good in return. The factories getting access to the CMMS and AIM is a good example of this.

    I'm not filling out anymore profit monitors. I was at a meeting about 6 weeks ago and Teagasc were using profit monitor info to demonstrate top 10% performance against the rest with figures from profit monitor c/w accompanying handout all with the head of the Glanbia milk team in the room. They are far too free with this info. The only semi-public forum where this info should be discussed is where everyone in the room has a completed profit monitor, there should be no public airing of profit monitor info at meetings/walks/demos or on any open media.

    FIU = Farm Income Units. You or your advisor can fill out this form. Basically it is to update your account of any changes, eg herd size increasing or decreasing, forestry etc. There is no real need for you to even put down your PPS number if you prefer not to. It is definitely worth filling out this form if your herd size has decreased as it can mean you could possibly pay a lower contract.
