Bought Sky + Can I install?

    Can I switch an ordinary box for a sky+ one? Previously had one but now I dont have a phone line attached to any boxes.Can I install sky+ box myself or do I have to inform Sky? And will they look for a phone number?:confused:

    P.S. Have a sky + in bedroom but want one in sittingroom also.

    Dont mean to sound ignorant but your question is confusing, what other box did you have and are you currently a Sky customer? also the phone line is not an essential part of an install.

    Yes am a Sky Customer ,had 2 sky+plus boxes and an ordinary box.Left Sky and went to UPC.
    Am back with Sky now and have a sky+ box in bedroom and ordinary box in sittingroom.
    Now want to switch ordinary box with a Sky+ box in sittingroom.

    Yes you can switch boxes but you will have to ring sky to get them to pair the card with the box to enable the sky+ features.

    You will also need to get a second cable from the dish to where you want to put the second sky + box otherwise you will not be able to record a channel and watch another.

    If you only have 1 cable you can only record what you are watching and wont be able to change the channel.
