brother sponsership

    Hi guys,is it possible for a brother living in australia as a permanent resident,to sponser his sister ,who is irish?

    Yes if he lives in a designated regional area he could sponsor for 10 points on a 489 visa but the applicant would still need an occupation on the list, Skills assessment and 50 points of their own.

    It's nothing like a free pass.

    Thanks for the info,so no,he is in sydney,and she will have to apply as normal,i think in the old days a brother/sister could sponser for entry.

    The old days was for a 176 visa which was 100 points, they still need an occupation, skills assessment where as the independent 175 was 120 points not unlike the system today.

    The only other way is last remaining relative or refugee reunion.
