    Hi guys,
i never really thought i would be posting in this forum but...
I have built up to being able to run 5k, it was my goal of 2013
Now i feel i like i would like to be able to do 10k as a new goal.

to get this new goal is it a case of just running a little bit longer every week?

i feel like i am totally maxed, energy, muscles etc at 5k now and feel i am phyiscally not built to run, but i want to :D.

    thanks for any insights

Hi schadenfreude8, congrats on hitting your 5k goal. Best thing to do is to find yourself a 10k training program and follow it. Something like this might suit you. Also, there are lots of 'fit4life' groups where you can meet, train and occasionally race with like-minded people. Mostly, just keep enjoying it though.

There's a simple test. Put on a pair of runners, and head outside. Put one foot in front of the other and then take the trailing foot and place it in front of original foot. If you can do this slightly faster than walking pace, then take a bow.... You're a runner. :)

Why don't you stick with the 5km? You could definitely go sub 20 if you really wanted to!

Make sure you're not overdoing your training. Only train at a pace you can keep a conversation at.
If 27mins is your 5k race time, then you're training should be a good bit slower than this. Make sure you can easily keep a conversation going when training, you'll get much better benefit from this & be able to go for longer.
