First adjust the steering wheel to it's lowest and furthest out point for easier access - take key out of igntion.

Pop off the little plastic cover between the steeering wheel and clustet, be careful it's very easy to break this.

The cluster is held in with 2 torx, use a magnetic driverif you can as it's very easy to loose these down behind the steering column.

When you have the two torx out you need to unplug the 2 scart style block connectors at the back, you need to do one side first (left hand side i think from memory) then swing the cluster out to get access to the other side. The connectors are release by pulling up a plastic lever at the top of each, these are also very easy to break.

splitting the clustr is going to be your biggest problem, gently those it. If you need to remove the needles, mark (take a picture) of there exact position and remove by sliding a flat driver in under the centre of the needle and turning to prise upwards.

I wouldn't bother with battery or fuses just make sure the key is not in the ignition when unplugging and don't put key in afterwards to unlock steering wheel or anything like that.
