Hi, jut wondering if I was a fully qualified primary school teacher in the UK would there be a short course to do for it to be recognised in the Republic of Ireland or would I have to to the entire higher diploma course over here again?

    Thanks.

You would not have to do the diploma again.

You have to complete an Irish exam and also you must check that your degree/post grad is recognised by the Teaching Council of Ireland.

I would think long and hard before coming to Ireland if you can stay in the UK. There are little to no jobs in Ireland at the moment. Maternity leave positions command about 400 applications on average. Substitute work is also getting increasingly harder to come by. Good luck.
