Would a small bit of blood in a new born calf ****e be normal. Have a 3 day old calf and noticed a single "clot" in an otherwise normal milky one.

Father is away and I am of limited experience. Calf seems fine otherwise. Sucking well and not sick in himself.

Expect it's nothing to worry about.

Wouldn't be abnormal. If its salmonella, which would be bloody, the calf would be sick and not drinking.

Wouldn't concern me if its an isolated thing... just the system clearing out and getting up and running..

Keep a tight eye though to be sure its nothing more sinister..

That was what I was thinking.

Nearly anything in isolation is possible for the first few days.
If it's an isolated incident I wouldn't panic, if other incidents rear their head, you might want to be looking for answers.
