    Hi,
Need a good recommendation for reliable, quality roofer to replace flat roof on kitchen extension.

We looked everywhere and can't find a decent recommendation. Very afraid of getting caught with a dodgy job!

I think the most important thing is to choose a registered roofing contractor with experience in flat roofing. There are several different flat roofing materials including torch on felt ,fibreglass, pvc membranes ,low pitched metal sheeting , EPDM etc . Insulation is also very important and a warm roof system is now the norm and can achieve better u values . The insulation is installed on top of the roof rather than between the joists and the roofing material is then fitted. 90% of roof leaks occur at joints and lead flashings so it is worth considering a one piece membrane to cover your roof and pay particular attention to adjoining vertical surfaces to ensure a waterproof finish . Do your research on the different options before deciding what product to use, roofing membranes need to expand and contract under different weather conditions.
