Why do young people sit at the BACK and/or TOP of the Dublin Bus?

I've noticed an interesting trend; most young people 25 under, sit at the very back, or usually the top.

I'm asking because I don't understand why someone would sit upstairs in any situation. 1) If the bus flips, over the people on the top are stuck.
    2) Most people who sit on the top look 'shady'

Young people sitting upstairs and at the back of the bus?

Only other place there is is downstairs at the front, which is the priority seating.
Young people are unlikely to need the priority seating. That's all.

Or that it is the furthest seat from the driver if they want to get up to mischief?

I don't mean the priority seats. I was talking about the ones at the very back which people put their feet on.

I personally wouldn't sit at the very back because of the 'type' of people that sit there. I'm not talking about just young people...well someone gave an example of a picture above.

I love these type of discussions.
This is the stuff i think about on and off. Why one person sits to the left and another to the right.
I am very "right brain" dominant. I always go left when given a choice.
It feels unnatural to sit on the right side. I also sit upstairs because it feels too crowded downstairs like I am in a sheep pen.

Upsairs I prefer to sit half way down at the middle and where the window frame doesn't block my view.

I think people sit at the back for a lot of reasons, trust issues, associations with class, mischief, smoking etc.
Its a social trend at this stage I think.
Upstairs front = tourists, families with kids, foreigners who have been in the city a while and others I can't tell why(maybe in a rush?)

upstairs mid = me, foreingers been in the city a while, tourists, regulars.

upstairs 3/4 back and back = brand new tourists, regulars and the type of people this thread is about.

If the bus flips I may kick out the front window while the driver is downstairs stuck in his booth. Or.. open the emergency exit at the back? Maybe thats gone now.
Or maybe I would hope to beak some bones during the incident and sit and wait for an ambulance taking loads of pictures all the way to hospital hahah!

ps the above observations are purely mild speculation.
