    Budget around 600-800.

Was looking at this LG from Argos. Anyone have any ideas.

Mainly just for playing Fifa as have 1440P monitor but would like something good for games as well if friends were over or would any TV really do?

Lookin at a few recently for myself,100Hz led is what ive decided im gonna get. Ive heard a lot of people say the picture is better with plasma at bigger screen sizes but I reckon id be happy with the led.

Is there any drawback to gaming on a tv?

I ordered this the other day, it'll be the main family tv but I'll have the computer hooked up to it as well

Just be careful it can accept a 100hz input, a lot of TV's that claim to be up to 200, 400 & 800hz, but they get this by producing replica frames and inserting it after the previous, so they double/treble the frame rate.

The result is a smoother picture, but this causes input lag. How much and how bad the lag is, I don't know but its worth doing some research first.

If the telly has dual-link DVI input/Displayport or HBMI 1.3> input it may support true/native 100/120hz. It's worth giving a look on Blurbusters as well.
