I have e a clunk kind of sound coming from the front end of the car. Noise is very noticeable when goes over bump on the road or a speed bump.

I notice the inner tie rods can be moved by hand even when all four three are on the ground.
Could it be them or the anti roll bars

As in there is play in it? They are a ball and socket joint so it should rotate but not pull in and out. You normally jack up the wheel and shake the tyre from side to side a feel for play in the inner and outer. I get my mate to check it up on a lift. Never done it on the drive way.

Could be ball joint or shock mounts either.

    they rotate alright.

stabilizer droplinks cause clunking in potholes

    Springs look grand.
So is there a bit of movement in the inner rod. Both moved today when I looked at them.

The links should be cheaper to change first. I mite leave it in the garage on Monday and get them to have a look

might sound a bit obvious, but this happened to me and it was just loose wheel nuts....

    Have you a torque wrench?

droplinks can be checked for torn boot and play. Just grab the front spring and shake. Keep yer other hand on the links and feeeel them. ;)

Sounds like bushings. If a bushing is gone it can make a fairly loud clunk, especially if you go over a pothole or speed bump.

Front end cluncks are hard to track down. Just going through this myself. The usual suspects

    - drop links
    - Control arm bushings
    - Anti roll bar bushings (but usually car is VERY old unless its an alfa, sorry alfa fans :( )
    - inner/outer tie rods (Horizontal wheel play)
    - ball joints ( Lateral wheel play)
-Top mounts (Cluncks when steering at low/no speed)

This also could be engine mounts, but given that the wheel has play I doubt it. Can you feel it back up through the steering wheel? Does the steering feel wooly?

True, in the end one of my front shocks was gone so replaced both
