    Hi all
    1998-2000 - 9 speed Colnago dream.
    i run a 50/34 crankset and currently have a 13-26 casette.

Its time for a new chain & i might change the casette.

    Could i get away with a 13-28 on rear v the 13-26.

I never run a 50/25 or 26 gearing. I'm very careful not to cross the chain etc.

Would my deraileur handle this ?

Also any recommendations for a good chain ?

    Thanks

I can run a 29 cassette on a short campy cage. It needed adjustment by LBS to take it but I can now change between 29 and other cassettes without issue. I run 11 speed so cannot be sure about 9 speed.

Can't see the 28 causing an issue. KMC or Wipperman chains come highly recommended. Buy a wipperman connex 9 speed quick link for simple no tools required fitting or removal of the chain for cleaning purposes etc. 9 speed ones are very cheap.
