Belfort ducked a 'roids test it seems :)

Nevada just outlawed TRT and almost immediately Belfort has said he cant fight Weidman. So, he's out and Machida is in.

I'm a long time Machida fan but I dont think I could ever see him beating Silva (or Jones for that matter). Weidman is a different matter and this just got interesting :)

    That's not really what happened.
Vitor gave his reasons, and they are pretty sensible tbh. He can't just stop TRT tomorrow.

Silva always said that Machida would get the better of him in sparring more often than not.

Him against Weidman is definitely a fascinating match-up, especially with his great TDD. A much harder fight for Chris than Vitor IMO.

Hope Machida does the business. Weidman doesn't really inspire the division tbh. Chap has no personality. Machine by flashy KO rd 2.

Considering the situation, I think Vitor handled it well by being honest.

Those who were getting TUE exemptions already have been screwed over here.

I'm all for a ban, but there should've been a grace period introduced for guys who need to come off the TRT.

I agree. Surely he has to be given time to come off TRT and for his body to adjust.

They should have given the fight to Bisping, according to him he only has one loss one now.The Hendo and Belfort losses don't count cause they were on TRT

Vitor was quoted as saying he would take the fight with Weidman even if he was not given his TRT exemption in Nevada. I have to wonder now what would have happened if they declined him, he is not taking the fight now, what would he have done?

I was very excited for the fight and would have been strongly behind Vitor. But his exemption bothers me as it does to many people in varying degrees. Strange murky waters.

He said he doesn't count 3 losses, add Sonnen to your list

He's still on a medical suspension anyway, I'd be a bit surprised if he ever fights again to be honest

Thought his last medical report was inconclusive, so didn't know he had been cleared to fight yet!

Just watched a fascinating interview with Freddie Roach from a few years back. He was talking about some of the MMA fighters he's trained and who he'd like to train etc.

He said Silva was a tough one to understand and it took him a while to figure him out. He had him up against some of his light hws and said he was basically even with them. Then seeing the difference between the Silva in the gym and Silva on fight day was that Silva never sparred more than 30% or 40% inthe gym and was just working on timing/technique etc.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but it's a nice little nugget of information I feel. I can link the interview if you like.

The most curious part of the whole Vitor/TRT saga is the fact he was randomly tested last month by the NSAC. They won't be releasing the result if he doesn't apply for a license. But there's nothing stopping Vitor's legal team releasing the result. If it was "clean" why wouldn't they.
Aubergine they do to want people to misunderstand the skewed T:E ratio, but if the total test levels were acceptable I can't think why they wouldn't release it.
