We have an issue with water collecting on top of the drivers side strut and also going down on to the drive belt and sitting on top of the power steering pump when it rains. It seems to be coming down to it under the plastic rain channel/gutter that runs along the width of the windsreen.

I removed it today to see is there anything amiss, but I cant see anything wrong except there is also a small plastic tray under the the channel to direct the water that comes off the channel and into the square hole in the wing so that it can run off.

Now there is one on the passenger side, but none on the drivers side.I am guessing that with nothing to direct the water that comes off the drivers side, its looks like its running into the strut top instead of going down the square hole on the drivers side. So, if anyone has one of these cars, I would be grateful if you could tell me if there is one on the drivers side of their car.

This is under the rain channel now.

The dam thing is leaking through the holes that the wiper spindles pass through now.I dont know if there is meant to be a rubber seal or something underneath it or not.Does anyone know?

Haven't got a Ford Fiasco, but looked this up:

    http://www.fordcat.ru/shop/1/parts/1411088

Next to "<02294" is the drain thing.

    1141019 (2S61-A02294-AC) R/H drain
    1141023 (2S61-A02295-AC) L/H drain

but then the next few lines seem to be for the same thing, later car or something.

Either way, it looks like a handed part and there should be a pair of them, especially if there are those holes both sides.

They seem to be fed by the scuttle end pieces above them.

As for the spindle seals. Check the page from the parts book.

If your Russian is a bit rusty, just use Google Chrome and machine mangle it into English.

Machine mangle... I like it. I love reading machine mangled reviews in particular. OP sorry for derailing your thread.

The cheap nasty plastic parts that car makers use is terrible. The piece of the scuttle panel that fits into the groove under the windscreen broke off:-(, so I had to get one from a scrappy.

I also asked if they had the the little small PLASTIC (again) piece to collect the water that comes off the screen and panel to go into a hole to allow it to run down a channel in the inner wing.

Strangely, this part was missing from their vehicle also.

Is this part on any 02 -08 fiesta model I wonder?

    Thanks for the links.

Have a look at the main tray, does it look the same both sides like it would feed into something.

What I'm getting it is I wonder if it is just a one-sided thing depending on whether the car is LHD or RHD and hence the reason for two holes, one drain.

Initially that thought did cross my mind, but there needs to be both little "collection trays"at either end, because the water will just drop down somewhere on the bulkhead instead of going down in the hole in the inner wing.

There in a gap between the full length panel, and the hole on the drivers side, but no tray.l wonder if anyone else on here has one of these cars, and if they would be so kind as to check please.

Another thing,I don't know what seals up the holes that the wiper arms go through the scuttle panel,as they are leaking too.

Top pic is drivers side, lower one is the passenger side.

Looking at the links you gave, it does appear that there is only one of them direction/collection trays, but I don't know why because as I mentioned earlier, two are needed because the water can pour out at both sides that is coming off the screen, but its odd to find that two cars I know of has just the one...???????

Those other seals are under the scuttle panel which are ok on my one, but there is nothing around the spindles when the panel is in place.

    This'll sort it out...

By all accounts those Ford Festers can be a nightmare in the bulkhead department - dash out and find the rotted foam sealant sort of hassle.

Well yeah, and that could be said for all modern cars now :-(

Just thought I would let you all know as I am sure you are all wondering like mad................:D

................anyway, seriously, just thought I would rip off the plastic wheelarch liners to see what's underneath out of curiosity. It appears that its not a very good arrangement as it just flows out that hole under the windscreen, and then it just falls down in behind the liner and mudflap and out, which is silly instead of having some sort of ducting there to take it.

Its a place where muck can gather there too. There is a padding there to stop I assume water or air from entering the passenger compartment, and if you open the door, and look in behind the hinges and the wiring harness to the door, you will be able to see it, its black.

So now if anyone needs to know or has to do work there, you will know;).

    Black padding on the right
