ENT waitings times (private) in Dublin

    Hi i am visit my GP in the next day or so with the plan to get a referral to an ENT consultant. How long generally does it take to be seen in Dublin would it be as long as a month or would it be shorter than that. I don't want my GP to refer me to somewhere that takes ages to get seen.

    Most private ENT's are about a month, public list is about 12 months in my neck of the woods though I hear its 18 months in north Leinster.

    Go to your GP. Tell him/her your problem. See what treatment can be offered. Ask your GP's opinion on whether you need referral or not. You may find you don't actually need referral. Don't go in planning a referral. You will be referred but it is not necessarily the best option.

    If you get referred ask for a referral that's not addressed to anyone specific then phone around the secretaries to get one with a short wait time?

    My guys wait times vary, summer is busier plus holidays etc, but sometimes you phone and get a cancelation within the next few days. It can also depend on where you go to see him.
