Shipping a bike to the UK, who to use?

    I need to ship a childs bike to the UK but am having difficulty finding a company willing to take it without charging a fortune. Anyone able to recommend a courier company that has reasonable rates? The bike will be packaged in a cardboard bike box with dimensions of about 114 Cm X 79 Cm X 29 Cm, weight no more than 14kg.

    Is it possible to lose some of that weight and use Parcel Motel (they have a 10kg limit I think) as I seriously doubt a child's bike weighs that much so there must be considerable packaging weight in there too?

    You're right, bike itself is 8kg, but I was being generous with the weight of the cardboard box!!

    I was just in with these guys. Have never used them but they are based in Sandyford. http://www.parcelzone.net/ The owner does a lot of cycling and ships his bike around a lot

    I sent off a bike with parcel2go on Tuesday to the UK, dimensions were 100X70X20 and 20 kilos, cost was €24.
    Edit: I should have added that I removed the handlebars and wheels and turned the pedals in to fit the bike into the box.

    Thanks spyderski, might be a few weeks yet as I still need to find a replacement for one I need to ship, but you'll be my first port of call :)
