Mazda MX6 Stolen in Castletroy

Hi everyone,

I don't know if I'm allowed post this here, so ye can move it if necessary.

My car was stolen from the University of Limerick foundation building car park in Castletroy between 19:20 and 22:55 on 26/2/14. It's a 95 Mazda MX6 with six spoke alloys and red rim tape. The rear/side and rear windows are tinted, and there's two Japanese stickers on the rear window.

It's a pretty rare car, so if anyone sees a red MX6 around, even on different alloys or without the wing, there's a good chance it's this one. The registration is 95-D-47064, if any of ye hear of anything or see it around, could ye post here, or maybe call Henry Street Garda station on 061-212400.

Not too sure yet, UL security are working on it at the moment.

Regarding the CCTV make sure to keep on top of it both with UL security and the Gardaí. A friend of mine had his car reversed into a few years back and due to pigheaded application of the rules, it was practically impossible to get the CCTV footage released to the Gardaí (Security would only deal with the Garda who originally investigated the complaint).

Is this the 160BHP or 200BHP?

Anyway, will keep an eye out , shouldn't be too hard to spot!

It's a 160hp 2l V6. Most of the MX6 2l engines are 4 cylinder, there's not many V6 versions around.

Wow didn't know they came with the 2.0 V6 , thought the V6's only came in 2.5

There was a JDM 2.0 v6 that the 626 and the Probe didnt get. Afaik. Otherwise yeah it was a 2.0 4cyl or 2.5 V6

yeah, it's a 2.0 V6 kfze engine, they were only ever sold in Japan.

BTW I think I saw you in Dublin a few weeks back, I was driving an XK8 and nearly had whiplash of the neck trying to get a look at your motor. Such a rare machine. Hope you get some good news.

****s sake. Crime like this isn't taken seriously in this country. Scum that do this need to be properly punished but alas if caught it'll be a feather tickle on the wrist.

Really sorry to hear this op. Don't let it put you off having another decent car though or the scumbags have won.

My sympathies OP. Feeling it for you. To nick and burn out such a great and loved car just to make a few Euros on the alloys..... Will keep an eye open.
