putting a concrete area at back of house

We have a bit of a mess at the back of our house and want to change this.

At present there are some old flag stones which are uneven and broken. I want to have them removed and then possibly a new concrete area laid (I will add stone/tiles/granite in the future).

Does anyone have any idea what it costs to do this? There is soil under the flagstones right now so I assume a base needs to be laid first and then the concrete?

Any ideas on costs? Per sq meter? Is it a landscaper or construction people I should approach?

    Thanks for any advice.

How big is the area.? What is it going to be used for. As that will influence any price.
All soil will need to be removed down to a hard base of marl clay.
Then a stone base, blinded with 804 or sand then a sheet of 1000 gauge pvc to prevent rising damp. A few screeds where needed and then pour the concrete. Depending on area of size. It might be cheaper to use Readymix concrete.
If you have sizes or photo of area you might be able to get more price.
A good DIYer would be able to do it for you.

    thanks that is very helpful.

The area would be about 60 sq metres.

I'm just trying to get an impression if this type of thing would cost a say 500 or 5000!! It would then help when going for a quote with a company.

    Thanks.

    Hi
For the size of the area would you consider a consrete inprint type. Would give you a nice finish as opposed to a plain concrete surface. Might cost a bit more than concrete finish but would give a pleasing surface. There are companies that do this kind of work, might be worth getting a price

thanks for the advice. Anyone know what this type of area would cost- any rough figures to give me an idea if it is even worth considering (considering my budget!)

You would need at minimum 100mm deep of concrete so for your area I would guess concrete alone would be about 750 (give or take). I would guess about 1k all in done yourself.

An area that big should really have steel reinforcing in it. Especially if it's going to be driven over. And at least 100 to 150 mm deep Concrete.

An area of say 60 sq mtr and approx 100mm deep will cost 350 euro from Killsaran or Roadstone ad another 200 for hard core and 200 for a skip thats 750 euro all in if you do it yourself and rope a few mates in to help.
If its at the rear of your house and not driving on it you wont need steel and dont need pvc or blinding sand
