Just wondering has anyone visited a country/city which people have to get out an atlas and still struggle to find it. the type of place your Geography teacher would have put on every table quiz.....

Somewhere like the Falklands or Tuvalu. Come on folks, tell us where, why you were there and was it what you expected........

I was in Stingray City, Grand Cayman. That's the most obscure place I've ever been to.

I got a back massage off one, and kissed another one. They were the size of a small car!

Torshavn in the Faroe Islands is one. I went to watch a WC qualifier in the summer of 2005, stunning place that I'd like to visit again.

    Guinea Bissau.

So good I stayed for a couple of years. :)

Great country, great people but total chaos politically and insanely corrupt.

Brunei, shook the sultans hand! Richest man in the world at the time. He asked me about Ireland and said our countries were similar. They are pretty similar except that Brunei is a paradise with more money than it can spend and Ireland is, well, Ireland.

I wouldn't think of Singapore as obscure, one of the busiest airports and shipping areas in the world...

Whitehorse and Dawson city in Yukon Territory, Canada.

I had to hitchhike to the latter as no buses or trains went there

Not sure where it was exactly but I couldn't understand a thing the locals were saying.

It was an hour's drive west from Waterford, it began with a 'C'.

Jindo island it's an island off Korea and all for the sake of looking at the Jindo dog.

It was like I was the only foreigner there in a million years. 3/4 of the people I seen actually stopped and just gawked at me. It was surreal

Was going to call growing up in Gaborone, Botswana one of my obscure places but I'm the third or fourth to mention Bots! Also did a lot of travelling as a child so was in Namibia, Zimbabwe, half of SA (Sun City, San Lameer, Kwa Zulu Natal, Durban...), to name a few.

Went to Swaziland as a child, it was hot and dusty with terrible roads and beautiful people.

A beach on a lake in Montenegro that had the densest covering of sunbathers and swimmers I've ever seen. The water had a film of sunscreen on it.

A town in the Himalayas on the India/Nepal border that was empty except for an old man and an old woman- more people lived there in the summer and migrated down the mountain in the winter but the old pair were two frail to make the two day walk to the nearest road access so their son made the trip weekly for supplies and they had a yak that they milked.

A town at the top of a mountain in Laos that was run by children. All the adults were out of their minds on opium and the kids were basically feral.

Rarotonga sounds exotic to anyone outside of aus/NZ but it's actually the equivalent of going to France or Spain over here.
