    01 Fiat Bravo 1.2

Got it in April 2008. Soon will be 6 years. At the moment it's got nearly 220,000 km on the odometer, and is running perfectly.

Have my car 9 years in November. The plan is to keep her for the 10, then buy something that I'll keep for another 10.

My first car, a 1992 Fiat Tempra, I still have it 9 years later. I got it when I was 15.

Next would be my E34, 8 years this September. How time flew by :)

My dad has his X1/9 29 years and there is a Consul Capri here (not much admittedly) since the late 60s

I chop and change mine a lot.

My parents theirs until they crash or engine catastrophe occurs!

Both bought new in 2002 c.220kms on the clocks!

Good luck mainly as they're both known for early issues mainly electronic gremlins and the BMW for expensive o-ring failure.

my trusty corolla 10 years and 226k miles on the clock of which 200k are mine

At home, 5 years with a Nissan Primera and Fiat Tipo (just noticed 5 year period now:D)

In Ireland, I can't resist to bangers. Longest was 2.5 years with Yaris with average of 8-10 months.

00 e200 bought in 2002 with 70k, parked up in Dec'13 with 230k miles. Rust was a killer, no issues until the final six months when brake master cyclinder, clutch and finally the engine gave up. Very comfortable wagon and strange to say it but actually miss it from outside the house.

Bought a six month old Renault Megane classic in October 2000 with 11K on the clock (ex hire car), drove it until May 2011, never gave me one days bother, availed of the Govt scrappage scheme then. So 10yrs 7mths

I bought a brand new Toyota Avensis back in 2003 and it was the longest I ever kept a car, 4.5 years. Generally I keep cars for 2 - 3 years unless I am forced to move them on before that.

I know someone who bought a Mitsubishi Carisma back in 1996 and kept it for 16 years.

I've had my 00 pre facelift Almera since September 2008. Nearly 5 and a half years.

Bar general maintenance and consumables, I've never had to spend money to have anything fixed or repaired.

2 years, a mark IV tdi golf (complete with fake GT TDI badges and comfortline spec)

By far the longest I've kept a car. Next longest was the e60 which I kept for 9 months.

Of the current fleet I think the truck and the carina should beat the golf's record - but usually I get bored after 6 months or so. (ergo I will be selling my e36 in 6 months!)

Had a Honda Del Sol for 4 years , that's my longest by far. Usually I change every year , but will be keeping my Alfa 166 now for a couple of years..

Have my Integra 4.5 years. Have no desire to change as nothing tickles my fancy as an upgrade (that I can afford anyway!).

Jasus I don't think I've had a car longer than 10 months (Mazda 6) - circumstances always changed personally so the car did too (needed to be bigger > diesel for mileage > safer for baby). The C5 will be staying put for a long run, I'm putting enough in her this week to make sure she's 100% so getting my moneys worth in the comfy bugger.

    2001 Honda Accord ... bought it Feb 2007 - still driving it so = 7yrs :)

I've only been driving a little under 5 years. Longest I've had a car was just under 2 years, it was a Toyota Avensis. The car was sound and never gave me much trouble apart from a couple of wheel bearings and an ABS sensor I busted going through a pothole one night. Didn't get rid of it for any reason other than I got bored with it.

Current S1 Exige, coming up on 12 years. No plans to replace it, nothing on the market new or used could compare to it.

Close tie between my Celica and 320i; about 4½ years each. Each time I changed was because I'd added to the world's population. 10 seconds of pleasure is not a fair trade off for a lifetime of increased bills, even less free time and having to change a Celica for a Golf or an E46 320i for a fúcking Qashqai.

    Renault Clio, 2 years.

I would say the longest was 2 years but more likely 18 months.
    Shortest 24hrs

I'm on car number 38 ( ish ) I think - and while it was fun, I wish I had all the money back and stuck with the 5 GT turbo I had 20 yrs ago
