I am driving a banger & recently had a puncture.
So I changed the tyre... and went to get the puncture repaired.

Then someone called me an egit for driving on the wheel with no alloy.
When I asked someone else, they said it is fine.

It's exactly the same tyre as the other 3, just has no alloy on that one.

Should I not drive on this? Does it put the car off balance?
It looks the same as the others and same tyre except no alloy.

Is it the same size or is it a space saver?
If its the correct tyre then tell the other person thanks but its fine.
The only issue you may have is of the wheel nuts are a different shoulder mounting.

thanks 4 answer. I don't tell the full story ....actually i go to check it out for sure tomorrow....

but I don't think its a space saver... it's not one of those skinny ones.
Its heavy ... seems the same weight & size as the others.

Some cars that have factory alloys would just have a normal steely as a spare if that's the case for you obviously then it is correct for the car not all cars have a fifth alloy as a spare.

Lots of cars with alloy wheels only come with a regular steel spare wheel, nothing wrong with that as it is cheaper for the manufacturer given that the spare wheel generally very rarely gets used.

The C5 had one of it's alloys relegated as a spare and the steel in full time use now. The alloy got buckled on a pothole and it was just as easy to use the steely. Not a problem since.

Mine came with a full size 18" alloy as a spare.

I tend to bin the space saver if I can and use a full size wheel, it sounds like you have a full size wheel OP.

    Saving space my kankle!

just be careful if there are warning stickers on the steel rim stating 80kmph as they are a temporary spare, number of places around can fix damaged alloy.

That's normally only due to the tyre width and rating though.

If it's a full size wheel, there would be no need to under rate it.
