stove installing

    Hi I have a problem I'm in a rented house and not let take out fire place. But have a stove. And want to put it in no matter the look I got a pipe made up. Put my problem is from the back of the fire place to the front lentle is only 4 inch so I got a friend to. Make me up a stainless steal one. So I put the new pipe in my stove and up my chimney about 2foot but my. Chimley pipe is around 6 inch do I need to block it and if so withwat as iI can't reach with fire cement any info be grate thanks

    Hardware shops or stove places sell a tapered sheet metal piece which is inserted into the flue. Sounds like the pipe you got made is very small? I'm no expert so make sure you get another opinion as its not something to chance.

    Thanks for it reply. The ttapered. Sheet metal. Will that. Work. How do it work the pipe is small but it the only one that would fit with out tmaking out the fire.

    Be very careful what your doing as you could poison yourself or someone else with Carbon Monoxide.
    You really need to get someone who knows about Stoves to take a look at it for you.

    what you have done is fine op,dont block up around the hole it will kill the draught a bit..2ft up is loads
