I am currently working in a company for almost a year and my contract is up in a few months. Im looking for a new job as i think ive gotten all i can out of this job and want a change. This is my first job out of college after completing my phd. I was just wondering do i have to put my current employer down as a reference. Me and my boss dont really get along and if he knew i was looking for another job he wouldnt renew my contract, obviosly i want to keep my job for as long as it takes to get another. Can i just stick with my phd supervisor and senior peoplebi worked with in college or will prospective employers expect a reference from my current employer?
