Nikon versus Tamron dilemma!

Hi, I'm looking for a decent zoom lens for my D5100 and my preference is the Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G VR. As far as I can see the Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC is the cheaper equivalent.The Tamron is in some cases 200 Euros cheaper,but was wondering if this huge price difference actually reflects the difference…
