Planning - building behind a porch

We are looking at building onto the side of the house (our front door is on the side).
If we build a porch (2m x 1m) does that now become part of the house and we can build behind it as it would now be considered to be building at the rear.

Also just for the craic, if I was to build a ggarage to the side, again exempt, can I call it a garage on day one of the build and then convert it to living space at the end.

No. Its a porch. The building line remains the same.
