    Hi guys

is anybody using one of the freesat humax sat boxes inconjunction with astra 28.2.

Looking to get one to replace my existing combo box which has astra 19.2 hotbird 13 and eutelsat 9. If so was the set up easy any advice appreciated.

    Tks

There is probably a hidden menu. To access press the Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, Yellow.

Use a place in London for the area code eg SW19 8DY

To switch between freesat and the non-freesat stations is a bit of a pain but you can flash Raydon's software onto the box which helps/makes it a bit easier to navigate

would this do as a wifi dongle for the humax?

had a look at the specs on the belkin website and seems similiar to the humax dongle

As we can only guess at which box you want we can only guess as to which dongle you will need. So maybe this one:

You have to return it to factory settings. And you get the option for Diseqc at setup. You should have the diseqc output going to the first lnb input on the box.

I saw the humax dongle, but its rather pricey and was hoping to find a cheaper alternative.

I thought you had one already! On re-reading I see you are sussing out the box.

Do not buy one of those if your intention is multi satellite setup.

Humax (Hummy.TV) have a great community for alternative software and hacking of their boxes. The 1000S is not one of them though. That model box is primarily written to run the Freesat software. Even Non Freesat mode is glitchy according to reviews I have read.

am sussing it out as I now no longer need my combo box with 28, 19,13 and 9 as the tv can pick up the irish channels so was looking at getting a freesat box.

Two years on from going free to air there is very little non astra 28 I watch, maybe zdf and kabel eins on 19 for the football and rtl for formula 1.

I would just enter those channel transponder frequencies manually in non freesat mode rather than doing a complete blind scan.

the reviews have been mixed but it is doable.
