The problem with that is it becomes a location for some people to fish for offers from viewers via PM or, if the person is genuinely looking for an evaluation, you will wind up with them getting unsolicited PMs from users looking to make a deal off thread.
Up to now such evaluations are seen as veiled attempts to do the above and I can't see that approach changing.
Some other sites, like J+, permit off thread dealing so that's cool but the A&R Marketplace is operating under the shadow of the pre existing Adverts site and, as such, our rules are clear, no off thread dealing or unsolicited PMs.

How about a private or secure thread?
One that someone manages the users with access so only the trusted locals can get in.

Or no point if it's just open to us and not outsiders?

    Edit:
Perhaps a "is it worth it" thread would be good? As in, "seen something nice on eBay, is this price ok or crazy".

Private groups are closed now, no new members can join & all chat in them has been suspended, so they're effectively defunct.

Even if it was open for consideration we tried a private forum for that kind of thing and it was about as action packed as a modern Popes underpants.
There are ample resources online for finding the value of things, from eBay to Amazon to Adverts.
