I signed up for Digiweb fibre broadband at home three months ago. The phone worked reasonably well up until the 14th of February.

We have a dial tone but can't make or receive calls.

I checked the router and it's displaying the following error. Anybody else seeing this? The Digiweb support team are less than helpful.

20.02.14 21:21:05 Registration of Internet telephone number 01868XXXX failed. Remote site reports reason for error 403
20.02.14 20:51:05 Registration of Internet telephone number 01868XXXX failed. Remote site reports reason for error 403
    20.02.14 20:51:05 Internet telephony with 0494339839@sip.digiweb.ie via sip.digiweb.ie failed. Cause: (503)

Try registering using a softphone (Xlite or Zoiper, both have free options). If the softphone registers and can make calls then the problem lies with the router, either the registration details have been changed or the phone port could be dodgy.

Thanks for responding. I phoned them again this morning. I've been told that it was a "software problem" and my phone will be back working by close of business.

I'm so sorry I signed up with Digiweb. 15 more months of crap phone, broadband and customer service.

I've had the same problem for a few weeks now. I rang them and was on hold for half an hour when I was told I could leave a message and they'd get back to me. I left a detailed message and no one ever replied.

Had problems with the broadband at first but got it sorted quickly and now its great but their customer service has really gone down hill lately.

I'd second that. I ran into an issue at the turn of the year and got completely messed about. I was a long term customer, fairly happy with the service up until that point but once an issue developed they were a nightmare to deal with. I've never came across a service company so bad at dealing with customers. In the end they were unable to get it sorted but thankfully I was out of contract so was able to cancel. Sorry for anyone who has issues with their service and is stuck with them long term.
