I have upgraded W8 to W8.1. No issues. Removed 7 Gb of previous installation thru “Disc Clean Up”. Question is which does “factory settings” refer to now?

Are you talking about factory settings on a laptop? If so, after your upgrade you more than likely won't have this option anymore. If you do then it'll be the same as it ever was.
